Buried in a new Army report about stress and discipline in the ranks, a section titled "Sex Crime Trends" reports that violent attacks and rapes have nearly doubled since 2006, rising from 663 to 1,313 last year. (See Washington Times, Army's 'Chilling Trend' PutsWomen At Risk.)
Pentagon officials must have hoped that no one would notice. The press release and cover letter announcing a new "Gold Book"report on health, discipline, and stress in the military failed to mention the 9-page section reporting steep increases in violent sexual attacks in the military. Bad news about "a marked increase" in sexual assaults in 2011, "in stark contrast to previous years" was hidden in plain sight.The Army's own evidence of accelerating sexual assaults doesn't fit the agenda of "diversity" advocates pushing for women in land combat. On February 9 the Department of Defense announced incremental steps to implement a report advocating doctrinaire "diversity" in the military. Central to this campaign, which briefers described as "just the beginning, not the end," are plans to order female soldiers into direct ground combat units such as Army and Marine infantry and Special Operations Forces. These fighting battalions, which attack the enemy with deliberate offensive action, face conditions and physical demands that go far beyond the experience of being "in harm's way." ...Complete article posted at BigPeace here.
