"Chilling Trends" of Military Sexual Assault
Buried in a new Army report about stress and discipline in the ranks, a section titled "Sex Crime Trends" reports that violent attacks and rapes have nearly doubled since 2006, rising from 663 to 1,313 last year. (See Washington Times, Army's 'Chilling Trend' PutsWomen At Risk.)

Pentagon officials must have hoped that no one would notice. The press release and cover letter announcing a new "Gold Book"report on health, discipline, and stress in the military failed to mention the 9-page section reporting steep increases in violent sexual attacks in the military.  Bad news about "a marked increase" in sexual assaults in 2011, "in stark contrast to previous years" was hidden in plain sight.

Army Pregnancy Training...for Men

Pentagon Misplaces Priorities on Women in Land Combat
The Pentagon has announced a new policy regarding the assignment of women in land combat that does the wrong things for the wrong reasons.  Instead of putting the needs of the military first, the Pentagon is taking incremental steps to implement the deeply-flawed recommendations of ...  More information on this matter is available in CMR's February 10 News Release.
